The SOS Child Advocacy Center was fortunate to have Cerina Marlar from the Midwest Regional Children’s Advocacy Centers come to visit last week! Cerina is the Program Manager of Mental Health and Victim Advocacy and made a special trip to Kansas to tour numerous Child Advocacy Centers in Kansas as well as attend our state Child Advocacy Centers meeting. She spent time at our meeting introducing us to some of the great new resources that the Midwest Regional Children’s Advocacy Centers have developed to assist Child Advocacy Center staff and Multidisciplinary Team Members as they investigate child abuse.
The Midwest Regional Children’s Advocacy Centers offers webinars for free over a variety of topics. They also offer medical and mental health courses online. The services they provide ultimately save Child Advocacy Centers money since we no longer have to travel to receive high quality training. This also means that Child Advocacy Center staff can receive up to date training while remaining in their office and doing the front line work.
Feel free to visit Midwest Regional Children’s Advocacy Centers website for additional information.
